Caffè Motta

490 kW photovoltaic system

Salerno

THE PROJECT

Samso Spa has accompanied Caffè Motta on its journey towards energy efficiency by installing a 490 kW photovoltaic system on the roof of its production plant in Salerno. The building, inaugurated in 2019, features glass façades and a domed roof that allows natural light to be exploited, reducing the need for artificial lighting.

In the non-transparent areas of the roof, 538 monocrystalline silicon modules were installed, covering a total surface area of over 11,000 m². The plant produces 533,000 kWh/year, covering approximately 70% of the factory’s electricity consumption through self-produced renewable energy.

THE CHALLENGE

Caffè Motta aimed to reduce energy costs and the environmental impact of its production activities without interrupting the continuity of the plant. The main challenge was to integrate photovoltaics into an architecturally complex roof, with domes and transparent sections, ensuring efficiency and full aesthetic consistency with the building’s design.

The intervention transformed the building into a model of energy self-production, reducing the energy drawn from the grid and strengthening the brand’s positioning as an Italian company that invests concretely in sustainability and industrial innovation.
