For the Nexeo Plastics Italy S.r.l. plant, located in Luzzara (RE), Samso installed a 506 kWp photovoltaic system through the Servizio Energia / ESCO model.
Samso oversaw every phase of the project: from energy consumption analysis to system design and installation, through to management, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance.
This solution allows Nexeo Plastics to generate its own energy from renewable sources without having to bear the full initial investment, thereby preserving the company’s liquidity for other strategic initiatives.
Nexeo Plastics needed to optimize energy supply at its Luzzara plant, reduce its exposure to electricity costs, and improve the site’s environmental performance.
The challenge was to integrate self-generation from renewable sources with the plant’s operational continuity, entrusting the entire project to a specialized partner while keeping financial resources available for the company’s core activities.
The project has generated tangible benefits across all three ESG pillars:
A significant reduction in CO₂ emissions, with an estimated reduction of approximately 6,600 metric tons over the plant’s operational life and the generation of approximately 15.7 GWh of renewable energy, contributing to the energy transition and reducing the site’s environmental footprint.
The project reinforces Nexeo’s commitment to the local community, supports the company’s sustainability goals, and meets stakeholders’ expectations regarding responsible energy management.
The Energy Service / ESCO model allows customers to benefit from self-generation using renewable energy sources without having to bear the full initial investment, thereby optimizing resource management and demonstrating a strategic and sustainable approach to energy management.
